Botanical Description

Poeppigia procera is a shrub or a small tree with a flat crown; it can sometimes grow 12 metres or more tall in Guatemala, but reaches 27 metres in Peru. The straight, cylindrical bole can be unbranched for one third of the tree's height; up to 30 - 40cm in diameter with low buttresses[ 331 Title Flora of Guatemala Publication Author Standley P.C. & J.
