Botanical Description

Licuala peltata is an evergreen palm tree that is usually solitary-stemmed though it sometimes suckers to produce a number of stems from the base. The slender bole, which can range in height from 1.5 - 8 metres, is 5 - 10cm in diameter, and is topped by a crown of fan-shaped leaves with petioles up to 4 metres long and leaf blades up to 180cm wide.
