Echinocactus horizonthalonius is a spiny, evergreen, succulent, barrel-shaped cactus, usually with a single, globose to short-cylindrical stem, occasionally branching at the base and forming a clump of stems; it grows around 10 - 50cm tall and 10 - 15cm in diameter[ 1987 Title The Cactus Family Publication Author Anderson E.F.
