Botanical Description
Agasthiyamalaia pauciflora is an evergreen tree growing up to 15 metres tall. The bole is straight and cylindrical. The tree used to be harvested from the wild for its timber. Overexploited in the past for its timber, populations of this species have come under further stress due to habitat destruction. Recent botanical surveys have failed to locate any specimens and it is not known for certain whether the species is now extinct.
