Botanical Description

Alstonia pneumatophora is a tree; it can grow up to 85 metres tall. The bole can be 205cm in diameter The tree is harvested from the wild for its wood. A tree of mixed peat-swamp forest, it grows quickly and readily invades disturbed areas, so is not considered to be threatened. However, in some localities stands are suffering from logging and shifting agriculture.
