Botanical Description

Dracontomelon lenticulatum is an evergreen tree; it usually grows 10 - 20 metres tall, with reports of trees up to 37 metres. The cylindrical to slightly fluted bole can be crooked or straight; it is free of branches for around half of its height; around 50 - 60cm in diameter, exceptionally to 120cm; with buttresses up to 3.5 metres high and 1.8 metres wide[ 388 Title Guide to the Trees of Papua New Guinea Publication Author Conn.
