Grewia grevei is a deciduous tree that usually grows from 7 - 9 metres tall. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials. Grewia grevei is restricted to the south of Madagascar where it is threatened by habitat loss due to wildfire and logging.
