Botanical Description
Pinanga coronata is a clump forming, evergreen palm producing a cluster of erect, unbranched stem usually 2 - 8 metres tall (occasionally to 10 metres) and 15 - 70mm in diameter (occasionally to 100mm). Each stem is topped bty a crown of 4 - 7 leaves that can each be up to 300cm long including the petiole. The plant is harvested from the wid for local use as a medicine and source of materials. It is often grown as an ornamental.
