Botanical Description
Schizostachyum pilosum is an evergreen bamboo forming a dense clump of culms about 15 metres tall from short, woody rhizomes. The woody, relatively thin-walled culms are erect at first, later leaning over or drooping to the ground; they are around 5cm in diameter with internodes up to 30cm long.
