Botanical Description

Dalbergia emirnensis is a deciduous shrub or tree growing from 3 - 15 metres tall. The tree is a minor source of rosewood and is selectively felled for this valuable timber. There is continuing decline of Dalbergia emirnensis because of habitat destruction due to shifting agriculture and the exploitation of timber trees . Although it is still relatively common in its native range, it is mainly found in these rapidly-declining areas of forest, where it is selectively felled for local use and the minor timber trade. The plant is classified as 'Vulnerable' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2018)[ 338 Title IUCN Red List of Threatened Species Publication Author Website http://www.iucnredlist.org/ Publisher Year 0 ISBN Description A list of plants under threat and facing possible extinction, usually with brief details of the threats and information on habitat. ].
