Botanical Description

Fraxinus chiisanensis is a deciduous tree The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and source of wood. Fraxinus chiisanensis is endemic to the south of Korea, where it is severely fragmented and found in only nine locations. There is clear and documented evidence of a continuing decline in quality and quantity of habitat due to a number of factors which include the effects of deforestation.
