Botanical Description

Phyllanthus mittenianus is a shrub with horizontally spreading branches. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine. Phyllanthus mittenianus is known from only five localities, representing 3 - 5 threat-based locations. It has a very small area of occupancy and is threatened by encroachment for pole cutting (of other species) and cultivation. It is found in protected areas but is not known from ex situ collections.
